About this site
There is made an effort to make this site as usable and accessible as possible. The site is made with the standards recommended by the W3C, and uses structured XHTML for the content, and Cascading Style Sheets for presentation. There are several reasons for this:
- Structred and semantically correct markup secures readability in all kinds of browsers, including browsers used by visually impaired users, and handheld browsers like PDAs and mobile phones.
- Lower load time, and better visibility in search engines.
- Easier maintainance of the site.
The site validates as XHTML 1.0 strict and CSS2. All pages are Bobby AAA approved, and complies with priority 1, 2 and 3 of the W3 Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
Accesskeys
This site uses accesskeys, which are hotkeys assigned to different pages. On Windows you press the ALT-key and the accesskey. On Macintosh you press the CONTROL-key and the accesskey. In the Opera browser you press the SHIFT and ESC-key and the accesskey. This site uses the following accesskeys:
- 1. Home (front page)
- 2. Skip main navigation
- 3. Sitemap
- 6. Help (this page)
Text size is scaled down a bit to better readability with sans-serif fonts. If it's too small or large for you, please adjust this in your own browser (in Internet Explorer: View → Text size → larger / smaller).
Alternative style
During user tests we presented the users with several different header pictures. We chose to go with the picture of the skies, but some users preferred another background picture. Chose your own below.
